My great-great-grandparents, Abraham Hodge and Eliza Agnes Grant, married in Goulburn in May 1882. They were given a pair of small antique vases as a wedding gift, and they were inherited by my grandmother who gave them to my father.
My guess is the vases are bisque porcelain, perhaps an imitation of Wedgwood Jasperware. They’ve been damaged over the years, and show the signs of amateur repair, but remain significant family heirlooms.
I wish I knew more about these pieces. Have you seen anything like them?

Untangled Family History 
I inherited a blue jug in the same style.
First question would be: are there any marks or writing on the bases?

No maker’s mark or anything similar that can be seen. The bottom has a piece of paper stuck on by my grandmother many years ago with her note about their origins in the family. I’m loathe to remove it as it’s part of the provenance itself.
